today my prof said to my class “you don’t truly love someone until they’ve hurt you and you still think of them as the greatest person in the world. Love is the most violent act.” ok ok ok

men are so fucking weird and scary? don’t let any man ever convince you love is supposed to be painful or violent. don’t let any man justify his wrongful actions by saying they’re just part of what True Love is.

I hate how a lot of white gays see non-white main characters and interracial relationships (esp ones without white people!!!) as “less revolutionary” than queer characters and queer relationships

Personally, this is inextricably tied to me being transracial because guess what? I didn’t have Asian parents as role models. I didn’t grow up seeing that it was okay to be Asian and not fit in these superficial boxes white people created. I had almost no representation growing up, and it really affected my perception of myself as an Asian person.

So yeah, it really hurts when I hear white gays going “yeah, it’s got an Asian character, but it’s straight” or “it’s okay for a straight movie” and dismissing how powerful it is to people like me.
