deacon absolutely has a crush on the SS its canon and there is evidence to back it too im sry but I make the rules here

consider:

  • Deacon sees them once and is immediately on board with them joining up in their very top secret organization
  • even though the SS (presumably) finishes all of Desdemona’s orders to a T, he still goes out of his way to come up with an elaborate lie to make them seem even better than they are so Des will have to let them on
  • picks on them a lot, but thats just how he shows affection (his fuckign “recall code” bullshit omf)
  • “If you believe anything, believe that I’m in your corner.”
  • trusts them, and literally only them and nobody else in the railroad, with the actual truth of who he used to be and what he did in the past
  • sometimes gets naked in front of them while changing his disguise. “accidentally.”
  • talks a lot about how he prefers to work alone, but if you dismiss him as a companion he immediately shows concern for your safety and wellbeing
  • “Some old philosopher used to say people were made of a metal that defines their personality. And you are solid gold.”
  • his story he made up to Des of the SS patching him up and carrying him to safety is probably just a personal fantasy of his
