wlw are allowed to be worried that there are no announced wlw squad romances and strong hints there may not be.
queer people are allowed to be a bit miffed that we’ve seen 2 m/f romances confirmed but no m/m or f/f romances.
mlm and wlw are allowed to be a bit miffed that the shipside romances they are rumored to get have character models that were obviously made using the standard human character generator rather than specially rendered like squad members.
black people are allowed to be worried that Liam will be mistreated and miswritten the same way Jacob was, especially since they appear to share a writer.
women are allowed to be miffed that male ryder has dominated the trailers and press previews of the game.
people of color are allowed to be disappointed that we have seen no signs of any Ryders of color and no indication whether the custom character creation will allow them to make Ryders that look reasonably like them.
If you want to attack or police the reaction of any of the above, please consider why they might be concerned. Please consider that marginalized people treasure what little representation that get in mainstream games, and that if Bioware backslides on it, they are left with even less.
And seriously, please consider that most of y’all didn’t make a peep when the complaints were mostly gamer dudes complaining about graphics and mechanics, but you’re suddenly out here crusading for Bioware when marginalized people start worrying that the story won’t reflect them. Consider why one you let slide and the other you’re finger wagging like all get out.
Let marginalized people be worried about representation, because 9 times out of 10, it turns out they were right to be worried.
1) doctor’s prescription for ‘gender dysphoria’. you go to a licensed doctor or therapist (not a counselor or anyone without the right credentials to give prescriptions) and bring up hormone replacement therapy.
getting prescriptions are a gamble, not just in hrt, but in anything. some doctors will grill you with really unnecessary questions to ‘determine’ whether you ‘need’ it. some will take your word for it, and help you regardless of your intentions.
when my old doctor seemed a little off about giving me antidepressants, i just switched to another one that was much more respectful. that doctor was also the one who immediately agreed to sign a hrt prescription – the only reason why i didn’t take it was because i needed to move to chicago.
this method is specific for a prescription for gender dysphoria, but like many doctors, it depends on the person on whether they focus on dysphoria or not.
2) you can also pursue informed consent hrt. clinics that offer informed consent for hrt are dotted throughout the country, but they won’t be everywhere. i found one in chicago called the howard brown center, which is just like any clinic with doctors and so on. but the prescription won’t hinge on dysphoria, and instead you just pick up the bottle that very afternoon.
i cycled through three different doctors in the howard brown center, and none of them asked me about dysphoria (unless they were doing a pelvic exam, in which they ensured that they’d do their best to minimize potential discomfort).
as for costs – with my student insurance, it covers hrt, but im left with 60$ every five-seven months to pay for the rest. you’ll probably also pay for the needles and other accessories. without insurance, hrt can inflate to 200-500$.

Steven Universes new episode Rocknaldo is a reference to trans ideology. Ronaldo is against “rockpeople” (women) but when explained how rockpeople are really Crystal gems, he realizes that he was wrong. Then he insists that he is a Crystal gem (woman) too though he is a human (man). Gems tell him like it is (he ain’t a gem) but Steven tries to be nice and say that yea Ronaldo is a Crystal gem even tho he clearly doesn’t believe that himself. Ronaldo makes it all about himself (like transwomen often do in femalespaces) and tries to tell Steven how REAL gems would act. Steven is nice to him until he snaps and realizes how fucked up the situation is. Like women experience a peak rad moment when they get a bit too much shit from trans idologists.
