fur and hair isnt really a big thing for all the other galaxy races and earth seems to be the only planet that really has that feature on the humans and animals
so i imagine a bunch of aliens are hanging out together and theyre trying to remember the name of something from earth and theyre all “its from… oh fuck… whats the name… you know the furry planet.” and any nearby human is just… “THE WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY” and 4ever mortified.

Turians, who most regard as ‘disciplined’ and ‘lacking a traitorous bone on their body’ and ‘society above self’ being the unexpected and most accomplished con men.
Turians, who laughed at others when someone tried to ‘introduce’ them to oral sex, as if they haven’t tried *that* before.
Turians, who would rather pay respect to their Spirits.
Turians, who will try dating a human just for the heck of it, just to say they did it, and end up so enamoured with their tone deaf, squishy human.
We all know Mr Ama Darav is amazing in bed and the Angara as a whole probably discuss sex in normal conversation.
BUT we also know the angara instead view sickness as taboo conversation topics so

Jaal probably avoids Ryder when he’s sick so as not to worry them, but then is really embarrassed and for once awkward and self-conscious when caught
Imagine a poor Jaal laying in bed with a fever and Ryder taking care of him and he’s just super blushy and flustered about the whole thing, can’t tell if it’s the fever or all of the blood rushing to his face from embarrassment

He also feels sort of ashamed because he wants to be Ryder’s pillar of support and being sick like this is not good at all
Ryder just smiles and tells him that now its their turn to take care of him and support him ok I just need my mutual support in vulnerable moments i love them so much
He asks them not to tell the rest of the Tempest crew because he REALLY doesn’t want the fact that he’s sick to get out

I found the rest of that Mass Effect comic while rifling around in old piles of art, so I figure I should just get over myself and post it. Even though it’s JUST as badly written (and stiff and melodramatic) as I remember! Oh well, it was what it was, and I have enough recent work to feel awkward and embarrassed about that I can probably stand to let this one go.
Even as I was drawing this, I hadn’t decided whether or not I was going to have Shepard die in the end. Either way, I just wanted that damn ending to make sense.
Has anyone figured out how Turian mouths work yet?
Like clearly their lips matching the words is just for the audiences benefit, since the omni tool is translating, so im just 100% ignoring the idea that the front-beak is soft at all
But with those cheek-plates usually being kinda held out to the side, it seems like probably their mouths would be SUPER dry, since they cant really close them
not to mention their teeth are kinda very needlelike-and spaced pretty far apart, so what exactly are they meant to be eating?
They clearly arent meant to bite their prey (back when they were feral) since theyd have to flare the cheek-plates SO far out just to expse the teeth for biting, and honestly it might be easy to hurt the teeth by thrashing, i feel like they might snap off, even if they are metal?
(plus i feel like you might snap their cheek-plate by thrashing too, it just all looks really inconvenient and delicate)
Picture a turian eating– they cant really CHEW anything with their wide-set needle teeth,any liquid wll fall right out of their mouth since their plates dont seem to get 100% flush-closed even when they are pulled in tight…
The only thing i can tell for sure is that they probably speak in growls, purrs, trills, and clicks, which make sense with the mouth shape + the fact that the translators register them as a constant growly hum.
I’ve wondered this too. They have Arthropod mouthparts (their mandibles) which you see most often in insects and crustaceans on Earth. Doesn’t fit with the diet Turians supposedly have (largely meat) because Arthropod mouthparts are Something used most often for filter feeding and the like.
Their jaws and teeth are designed in a way similar to crocodiles but again, the mandibles interfere in that. They also have gizards like birds. It really does not make much sense.
