Yevara

They’re beautiful, intelligent creatures. Our closes tie to our past. A Yevara’s song is so beautiful, it can coax the sun out of hiding. Reveal the stars.

Sahuna Headcanons

~Mother & Son Day of Fun~

-One day Jaal brings his mother to the Nexus to show her around, especially his favorite spot on the station: the cultural center.

-Jaal eager to show her all the things he’s learned, pointing out the different VIs and written records, but Sahuna makes a bee line to the human VI

-Sahuna asking the VI about the human birthing process, because Ryder never answered that question in their email exchanges (Sahuna is certain Ryder was simply busy, and of course takes absolutely no offense).

-At some point, after hearing stories about the first human baby born in Andromeda, Sahuna writing an email to Dr. Kennedy asking further questions to fill in gaps the VI left. Kennedy, upon realizing/remembering Jaal (possibly) being one of the people defending her shuttle with Ryder that day in Voeld and being grateful for that, answers Sahuna’s questions with a few chuckles here and there, including a line implying she’s happy to help any mother who must’ve taught their son “always give the mother the gun”. Addison somehow hears about all this and shakes her head in chagrin, no doubt.

-But back to the cultural center: Sahuna making Jaal further embarrassed when she then asks the VI about human betrothal and commitment customs.

-“Mother, please” Jaal sighs, shaking his head yet also smiling as his mother asks further questions about about diamond rings and ponders aloud if [insert Heleus/Angaran gemstone of importance here] can be used instead.

-Staff and other visitors in the Cultural Center chuckling as they watch all of this go on.

~#1 Space Mom~

-After Meridian, Sahuna sending Scott (or insert name here if headcaon-y customized name for Ryder sibling if preferred) emails asking how he is feeling, if he likes pie, offering to have pie sent to Meridian or bring it herself, not so subtly talking up one (or a few of) Jaal’s siblings or cousins.

-Scott emailing his sister “…so, were we adopted by your boyfriend’s mom while I was in a coma?….And I think she’s trying to set me up with one of his family members….”

-Sahuna learning about Ellen. The Ryders at first think she’ll feel sad by having to “give them back” to Ellen at some point, but Sahuna is happy for them and gives the twins huge excited hugs, before laughing and pointing out the obvious fact that she’s used to sharing her children. Her only concern is that what if Ellen doesn’t feel the same if/when she’s woken up, and doesn’t want to share the twins with another mother. The twins telling her that won’t be the case.

-Sahuna maybe visiting the cryobay at some point and talking to Ellen’s stasis pod. She assures Ellen that she’ll take care of the twins until they have their mother back, because caring for children is what mothers do no matter what.

-Sahuna looking forward to officially meeting Ellen some day, inviting her to join the family
or at the very least getting to talk to her and ask questions about the twins’ childhood. (And maybe a few more questions about the human birthing process in case between the VI and Dr. Kennedy, there’s still things Sahuna’s curious about.)
