The Golden Trio (Gabriel, Ana, Jack) Headcanons

  • Gabriel’s actually not the best gunsman. he can’t really aim – hence the huge shotguns – and his reaction timing is off so he wields two shotguns to make up for being slow. but holding two guns at a time also means reloading is impossible, so he just drops the guns because he literally has no choice because he actually kinda sucks with guns
  • whereas golden boy jack morrison quickly became this alpha soldier with impeccable aim and gunsmanship, gabriel never really felt jealous about that part (although he certainly became jealous of various other things) because everyone knew that a good soldier isn’t just determined by how good you pull the trigger
  • and gabriel’s brilliance as a commanding officer plus his honest passion for protecting the world is what made him into a powerhouse. as soon as jack morrison was pushed out of the spotlight, soldier: 76 became his natural suppressed introverted detached loner self which was never good leader material. gabriel on the other hand was loved and respected by his troops for being who he was, rather than who he was advertised to be
  • but gabriel’s true potential was always tied down by red tape throughout his blackwatch career. jack hated the spotlight and never managed to escape from it, so ana amari became the actual ideal soldier out of the three, to the point where her ‘death’ was what really broke the organization
  • unlike gabriel, ana is incredibly skilled with weapons, and unlike jack, ana could readily communicate with her troopmates and teach others. ana could succeed in any situation because of her immense skillset. if ana’s watching over the battlefield, you knew you had good chances.
  • the three were friends in the beginning because they were all nice people, you know? but as the years went on, gabriel got more and more anxious and jealous, jack grew more and more into the puppet tool of Overwatch, and ana was actually doing relatively okay (which is even more impressive when you remember that she’s raising a child all throughout this drama) which is why talon went after her first. and all three of them steadily became disillusioned about their role as soldiers
  • by the time of the game’s canon, gabriel’s been conditioned by Talon to embody all that rage into a supernatural level, jack’s so Done with leading and is doing the only thing he’s good at, and ana’s the only one that’s halfway graceful with this mess

So instead of doing something along the lines of Gency, also realizing that.. If i have to re-photoshop literally every photo with her like this then it’s going to take me ages. So whatever photoset i plan on, i might redecide to make it somewhat more simplified because i spend an hour in photoshop for this alone.

ANYWAY, i really like how @kingsdarga draws Genji in his personal life, the concept of a robotic jaw really speaks to me.. ”gosh really.. Its not like your fav character is Raide-” SHUT UP…

Anyway their art is great go check it out! I made some changes to the face so it’s not exactly the same thing, but still heavily influenced by it i’d say. So credit was due.

I used different hair models for this, Genji’s sfm model, the YOUNG Genji’s sfm model.. And then i literally just took Raiden’s jaw and fitted it to Gengu.
