so i definitely believe that sexual orientations are based on sex and not identity, but someone made an interesting point to me in an argument recently – does this apply to asexuals too? i think it does but i didn’t know what to say to this, if someone can experience romantic but not sexual attraction would there still be a reason to have this for only one sex? do you have any thoughts on this?

yeah? i don’t really see why it wouldn’t tbh. like just because they aren’t interested in sex doesn’t mean they aren’t biologically programmed to be attracted to a certain sex. like this kinda seems to be coming from the whole mindset that same sex attraction is all about sexual intercourse and not just, like, who we are able to be attracted to in any way. i’m sorry if this is a bad explanation but i just don’t really understand why ANYONE could experience “gender based attraction” since gender is a social construct and means literally nothing, especially in the trans community.
